  • What Is Invisalign? How Invisalign® Works And Who Can Get It

    By admin October 17th

Invisalign is a great way to improve your self-confidence and self-image by giving you the straight, healthy smile you’ve always wanted. We often get asked “What is Invisalign?” by our patients because they may have heard about it in advertisements, read about it in a magazine, or heard about it from a friend, but they aren’t sure exactly what Invisalign is or how it works.

    What is Invisalign?

Think of this post as an introduction to Invisalign. Read through it and you’ll learn what Invisalign is, how it works, and whether it might be right for you! If you would like to learn more about Invisalign, why not schedule a free consultation with us today? Drs. Montano & Cardall are experienced “Top 1%” Invisalign providers and can answer any questions you might have about Invisalign.

    An Alternative to Braces

Invisalign is the name of an advanced orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear aligner trays to straighten teeth. When considering orthodontic treatment, many people seek out Invisalign as an alternative to braces because they prefer a more discreet or convenient treatment option. Unlike braces, when you are receiving treatment with Invisalign, no one but you will even know you’re wearing them! The only thing your friends and family will notice is your confidence in your new, radiant smile.

    How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign straightens your teeth by using a series of clear aligners to gradually shift your teeth into place. The aligners are made of a smooth, clear plastic, which means that they’re not only more comfortable than braces, they’re nearly invisible too! You’ll wear your aligners for approximately 22 hours a day, removing them to eat, and to brush and floss your teeth. Because you’ll be removing your aligners to eat, that means that you can eat pretty much whatever you like during treatment.

About every seven days, you will start using a new set of aligners. With each new set, you will be closer and closer to that perfect smile you’ve been waiting for. Every 12 weeks or so, you will visit your orthodontist so that they can monitor your progress and make any necessary changes. The length of time that your treatment will last depends on your needs and unique situation—but, generally, treatment averages between nine and fifteen months.

    Is Invisalign Right for Me?

Invisalign is a great option for teens and adults who want straight teeth, but prefer a more discreet and convenient alternative to braces. To determine whether Invisalign is a good option for you, schedule a complimentary consultation with Drs. Montano & Cardall! As Bakersfield’s only “Top 1%” Invisalign provider, they can help you determine the best treatment plan for you.
