Why Is Choosing an Orthodontist Such a BIG Decision?

Choosing an orthodontist is a big deal! Orthodontists complete an additional 2-3 years of training beyond dental school in order to focus specifically on aligning teeth, correcting jaw relationships, and bringing balance to the lower half of the face. Because dentists receive very little orthodontic instruction in dental school, this additional education is necessary to provide orthodontists with the knowledge and skills required to treat virtually every type of orthodontic challenge. After completion of their specialty training, orthodontists limit their practice to the exclusive practice of orthodontics.
